I'm buying my first horse, is this one right for me?
A successful venture in buying your first equine partner starts first with knowing exactly what will suit your riding abilities. It is important to be honest and realistic about your riding capabilities when looking for your next horse. It is also important to practice correct horsemanship habits with an accredited trainer while learning ' the ropes ' in the Equine industry. We urge that any new rider brings an accredited trainer with them while trying horses to ensure a proper fit. Horses at LB Equine Sales are evaluated on a trial period and then are represented honestly and to the best of my belief, however, are never guaranteed.
Ive had my horse home for a month now. Why isnt he the same horse as the time that I tried him?
It is the buyers responsibilty to practice correct horsemanship otherwise good horses can be ruined in a matter of time. Horse trainers are just like doctors and mechanics. Some are good and some are bad; unfortunately it takes a bit of trial and error to find the one that best suits your needs. If the horse rode/behaved better before you made the purchase chances are you have done the damage. I always recommend that a novice rider work along side a good trainer to keep the wheels on good horses.
Do you allow trial periods?
At this time we do not permit potential buyers to take horses on trial periods do to liability issues. You may come to my facility to try the horse as many times as you would like given the horse is not sale pending.
Can I vet check this horse?
Absolutely. Vet checks are welcome and encouraged at buyers expense. Contact us for a list of veterinarians in our area.
What forms of Payment do you accept?
Cash, cashier checks, or wire transfers. No personal checks will be accepted. There is a 7-10 day hold on cashiers checks, horse will not leave the property till the check clears. No payment plans/financing is offered. Board rate of $15 a day begins after the 3rd day that payment is received, and bill of sale contract is signed.
Do you take in trade horses?
Very rarely do I take trades. All sales are final when purchasing a horse from LB Equine Sales.
Do you ship horses?
All transportation of purchased horses are the buyers responsibility. LB Equine Sales can help with arranging transport if needed. We have a network of shippers that go regularly to the East & West Coasts, as well as straight North.
Do you hold horses?
Certain circumstances arise which pro-long the purchasing process on the clients end, given that this happens you may put a holding deposit on said horse to ensure the horse does not get sold out from under you. A holding deposit equivalent to 10% of the asking price is required. The holding deposit is valid for 7 days and is non refundable. A holding deposit is STRONGLY advised, as many of the horses listed sell sight unseen. Just because you have an appointment scheduled does not entitle you first pick, all horses are for sale and available till money is put down. I refuse the right to decline taking deposits on select horses if they are "hot" on the market (meaning they will most likely sell fast).
